This week’s Crime Stoppers feature is a bank robbery that occurred earlier this month.
The incident occurred at the First Tennessee Bank at 4430 Highway 58 on Saturday, Sept. 17. Shortly after noon a lone male entered the bank, approached the teller window and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled with the cash.
It was unknown if the suspect was on foot or had a vehicle waiting outside.
The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s. He was of thin build weighing 130 to 140 pounds. He was wearing denim shorts, a white t-shirt, a ball cap and sunglasses.
Surveillance photos showed the suspect keeping his head down so his hat would shield his face from security cameras.
Call Crime Stoppers with a confidential tip at 698-3333. Information that aids in an arrest could result in up to $1,000 in cash rewards being offered.
What are people saying about mortgages today:Rates on 30-year mortgages edged down last week to a seven-month low. Mortgage-giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.3 percent, down slightly from 6.31 percent two weeks ago. It put rates at the lowest level since they were at 6.24 percent the first week of March. Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank, Territorial Savings Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgages all cut their 30-year mortgage rates to 5.75 percent this week. Most people think of a mortgage as a means to an end. After all, you buy a house, not a home loan. But a mortgage is much more than the path to homeownership. It is a financial instrument that must be managed, just like any other financial investment.
