Couvrette's Stainless Steel Surround offers a high impact, small footprint for ATM installations where space is at a premium, as is the case with the Illinois Tollway Oases. Fifth Third selected a brushed steel finish to fit the interior of the tollway oases where they were installed; however, the surround itself is available in a number of metal or painted finishes. High visibility backlit signage on three sides and custom branding allowed Fifth Third Bank to increase brand identity and attract users to the ATM.

Fifth Third Bank’s decision to use the Couvrette Stainless Steel Surround came from their desire to closely match the interior of the redeveloped oases. A bank spokesperson said, “Couvrette was able to design and manufacture a kiosk that would fit the design criteria of the Chicago Tollway and incorporate Fifth Third Bank’s branding at such high profile sites.” When the project is complete, Couvrette Building Systems will have installed a total of seven stainless steel surrounds, one for each oasis in the redevelopment project.

All seven tollway oases offer travelers food and fuel services as well as other conveniences, such as 24 hour ATM banking, provided by Fifth Third Bank. The redevelopment project, which started in late 2003, is scheduled for completion in late 2005.

What are people saying about mortgages today:

Rates on 30-year mortgages edged down last week to a seven-month low. Mortgage-giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.3 percent, down slightly from 6.31 percent two weeks ago. It put rates at the lowest level since they were at 6.24 percent the first week of March.

Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank, Territorial Savings Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgages all cut their 30-year mortgage rates to 5.75 percent this week.

Most people think of a mortgage as a means to an end. After all, you buy a house, not a home loan. But a mortgage is much more than the path to homeownership. It is a financial instrument that must be managed, just like any other financial investment.
