Brighton Police are investigating a robbery at the M&T Bank branch on South Clinton Avenue Monday morning. Brighton Police tell NEWS 10NBC a man was robbed around 9:00 a.m. while making a night deposit. Investigators say the victim drove up in blue Dodge Neon and was making a deposit for a local business when the suspect approached him. The victim says he felt some type of electrical shock. Police are not sure if it was a taser gun or what type of weapon was used. The victim was not hurt. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A canine unit from the Rochester Police Department was called in to help with the search for the suspect. “A canine track was conducted but it went over in the direction of the club apartments over my left shoulder and ended there. So the assumption we're making at this point is the person probably left in a vehicle,” said Lt. Bill Flood from the Brighton Police Department.

Brighton Police need your help to find the suspect who is described as a black man, about six feet tall weighing 185 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and loose fitting black jeans. Police also say the suspect had a green bandana covering his face.

What are people saying about mortgages today:

Rates on 30-year mortgages edged down last week to a seven-month low. Mortgage-giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.3 percent, down slightly from 6.31 percent two weeks ago. It put rates at the lowest level since they were at 6.24 percent the first week of March.

Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank, Territorial Savings Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgages all cut their 30-year mortgage rates to 5.75 percent this week.

Most people think of a mortgage as a means to an end. After all, you buy a house, not a home loan. But a mortgage is much more than the path to homeownership. It is a financial instrument that must be managed, just like any other financial investment.
