The fight against cystic fibrosis: DCU for Kids raise over $270,000 to combat disease

Marlborough,- DCU for Kids, the charitable foundation of DCU (Digital Federal Credit Union) held two fundraising events in June that raised a record $270,000 for the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
The first fund-raising event, "An Evening with Boomer," was held at the DCU Center. Boomer Esiason, a veteran quarterback of 14 years with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, and Arizona Cardinals and television and radio commentator gave a heartfelt commentary about the fight against cystic fibrosis. He met with fans and major sponsors, including Digital Insight, SOURCECORP, Fallon Community Health Plan, Office Depot, and WEEI Sports Radio. Accompanying his dad was 14 year old Gunner Esiason, who was diagnosed at age 2 with cystic fibrosis.
The 7th annual Charity Golf Tournament was held at Wedgwood Pines Country Club in Stow, MA. Over 132 golfers participated in the event along with major sponsors including; Digital Insight, XP Systems, Fidelity National Information Services, Clarke American, CO-OP Network, Lending Solutions Inc., Eascorp, NES Group, Pro-Teck Services, and OUTBACK Steakhouse to name a few. Boomer again addressed the crowd with his son and applauded everyone there for helping in the fight against cystic fibrosis.
DCU incorporated DCU for Kids, as a non-profit charitable foundation, for distribution to deserving causes and charities benefiting children and families. Recent recipients of DCU for Kids support include The Boomer Esiason Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, Children's Hospital ? Boston, The American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs, The Jimmy Fund, and many more.
