FREMONT, Ohio -- With one victory already under their belt against the Sprints On Dirt 360 sprints this season, Fremont Speedway's tought Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints will take on the 360 sprints of the National Racing Alliance Sprint Invaders on Friday and Saturday Aug. 11 and 12.

On Friday, Limaland Motorsports Park will play host to the 305 verses 360 sprint shootout, while Fremont Speedway will be the scene the next night, Saturday, Aug. 12. If the same driver wins the feature events at both Limaland and Fremont, he will be rewarded with a $1,000 bonus.

Saturday, Aug. 12 will be an all-sprint-car-night at "The Track That Action Built," as the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints join the racing action on Auto Value Night.

Fremont Speedway will be busy the entire weekend, as the Coors Light Dirt Trucks, limited late models, school buses, vintage race cars and the ladies' powder puff race takes center stage on Sunday, Aug. 13.

The 25-lap NRA/305 Shoot-Out weekend will feature a big purse, paying the winner $1,500 (2nd-$1,000; 3rd-$700; 4th-$550; 5th-$500; 6th-$450; 7th-$400; 8th-$375; 9th-$350; 10th-$300; 11th-$270; 12th-$265; 13th-$260; 14th-$255; 15th-$250; 16th-$245; 17th-$240; 18th-$235; 19th-$230; 20th-22nd-$224). All non-transfer cars will earn $100.

The NRA race procedures will be incorporated and all 360 sprints must meet the NRA car specifications. All 305 cars must meet Fremont Speedway's car specifications and a 1,475-pound weight rule (with driver) is in effect.

Earlier this year, 305 sprint driver Bryan Sebetto of Fremont bested a 66-car combined 305-360 sprint field to claim the victory at Fremont Speedway in the SOD 360/305 sprint challenge.

Gates open at Fremont at 4:30 p.m. with racing scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The dirt trucks take center stage on Fort Ball Pizza Night, Sunday, Aug. 13, as they battle for $1,000 to win. For the first time this season, the trucks will qualify with a little extra incentive thrown in thanks to Excuses Lounge of Sandusky. The fast qualifier will earn $100, with second quick time taking $75; third quick $50; fourth quick $30; and fifth quick $25. Excuses will also pay $40 and $20 respectively to the first two trucks not making it into the A-Main.

What are people saying about mortgages today:

Rates on 30-year mortgages edged down last week to a seven-month low. Mortgage-giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.3 percent, down slightly from 6.31 percent two weeks ago. It put rates at the lowest level since they were at 6.24 percent the first week of March.

Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank, Territorial Savings Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgages all cut their 30-year mortgage rates to 5.75 percent this week.

Most people think of a mortgage as a means to an end. After all, you buy a house, not a home loan. But a mortgage is much more than the path to homeownership. It is a financial instrument that must be managed, just like any other financial investment.
