SUNY Potsdam and Seacomm to Hold Half-Time Supershot

SUNY Potsdam athletics is teaming up with Seacomm Federal Credit Union with a new promotion for Bear basketball fans! Starting with the SUNY Potsdam - Clarkson men's basketball 7:00 p.m. contest on Thursday, December 1st, Seacomm FCU will be sponsoring the half-time "SEACOMM Half-Court Supershot". At each Bears' home basketball game for the 2005-06 season, some lucky fan will have the opportunity to sink a shot from half-court and win $250.

Assistant Athletic Director Bill Mitchell credits Seacomm FCU marketing director Jerry Manor as the brains behind the season-long promotion. "Once again, Jerry and the people at Seacomm have stepped up generously to add atmosphere to our games at Maxcy Hall. Both our campus and community fans will share the excitement of seeing someone make a "Supershot" sometime during the season."

Rates on 30-year mortgages edged down last week to a seven-month low. Mortgage-giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages fell to 6.3 percent, down slightly from 6.31 percent two weeks ago. It put rates at the lowest level since they were at 6.24 percent the first week of March.

Bank of Hawaii, Central Pacific Bank, Territorial Savings Bank and Wells Fargo Home Mortgages all cut their 30-year mortgage rates to 5.75 percent this week.
